In
the Beginners session your child will be assigned a horse with a partner. The
horse will be theirs to take care of as if it were his or her own for 2 weeks.
The students will learn all the joys that go along with owning a horse. The
students will be responsible for cleaning their horse’s stall and feeding the
horse. They will learn safety, grooming, washing, trimming with electrical
trimmers, lunging, trailer loading, showmanship in hand for halter
classes,
about proper equipment (it’s placement and care) and both English and Western
riding at a controlled walk and trot. There will be classroom work as well as
riding in both our all weather covered and outdoor arenas. We stress safety while
learning how to handle the horse on the ground and riding him. Everyday is
filled with hands on experience!!
The Intermediate session is designed to follow the beginning session. Now
that the intermediate has control at the walk and trot they are ready to have
some fun! There will be exciting ground and mounted activities in Western
Barrels and Poles, Pre-Jumping work over small (18"-2’) cross rails, a
Precision Ride to music as well as a Murder Mystery Trail Ride!!
Beginners session or evaluation lesson prerequisite.
In the Advanced Intermediate session (a 1 week intensive session) the
students get their own horse. They are to care for as if it was their own. In
this session they continue to learn how to compete just like the Olympic riders.
They will learn the Beginning Green As Grass Horse Trial. They will learn and
ride the Dressage test, Stadium course and Cross Country
course. (2’ jump
max.) The student is then ready to continue lessons and compete at this level at
our recognized shows!
Whether your child is a beginner or advanced, get quality instruction and
individual guidance for your Olympic hopeful!! Sessions run Monday through
Friday 8am - 4pm. Transportation Available as well as extended care. Each
session ends with a fabulous demonstration show, awards and a buffet for their
family. The demonstration begins on the last Friday at 1:00 pm. Class size is
limited to 10 so make your reservations now!!
